This was one of my first horse paintings, produced as part of a larger study on a huge canvas. So different to my usual subject matter and the mouth and nose area is super tricky to nail.

For this painting I used thinned out, overlapping layers of acrylic to build the detail, light and shadow. It was a real challenge, but I loved the result.
