This is Poppy. She is the best friend of my best friend, and was painted as a surprise gift for Christmas!

Poppy is such a sweetheart, and I wanted a pose that showcased her beauty and personality. I think I captured it with this head and shoulders painting and the ‘butter wouldn’t melt’ expression.

The linen background was a beautiful neutral canvas for her white muzzle and neck, and she’s also got lovely brindle colouring on her head which makes for some interesting shading and pops of yellow and steely blue.
