Otis was a little pug with a huge personality. I loved working on this painting of him.

I decided to use watercolour and ink pen, and feel like I nailed that sassy stare!

Watercolour is such a fast drying artist paint. It lends itself really well to quick sketches and studies. It can also get muddy so you have to make sure you use purposeful mark making and not over layer. Added bonus is that it can also be really easily framed in a conventional flat fronted frame without any hassle.
